Currently only 4% of the eligible population chooses to donate blood. This time of year is especially challenging for us with so many people taking summer holidays and enjoying the best of the British summer. In addition we have to prepare for seasonal flu as those with flu are unable to donate and we need to supplement our existing stocks from new donors now.
Blood stocks are under constant pressure and we are currently experiencing difficulties in encouraging new people to become blood donors.
Our success at attracting blood donors depends on enlisting the support of the local community. Your support and assistance in enrolling new donors would be extremely valuable. Every new donor registered counts and each resulting donation from a new donor could mean the difference between life and death for a vulnerable patient.
We would like to give as many people as possible the opportunity to donate in your local area. Do something amazing today - Give Blood.
