The Royal British Legion in Ewell is being re-named as The Epsom & Ewell Royal British Legion and we hope this will encourage new members to join and also support our fundraising events through THE POPPY APPEAL - needed now more than ever as our service personnel are deployed on active service in Afghanistan and elsewhere.
The RBL safeguards the welfare, interests and memory of those who are serving or who have served in the Armed Forces. We are recognised as custodians of Remembrance and run the annual Poppy Appeal.
Locally, the 2008/9 Poppy Appeal raised over £20,000 and we are extremely grateful for the generous way in which so many residents supported us in their giving or by "shaking a can". On behalf of the RBL, our most grateful thanks to all residents for their tremendous support.
In helping serving and ex-Service personnel and their families it is not just those who fought in the two World Wars, but also those involved in the many conflicts since 1945 and those still fighting today.
